Hi! So I’m on a roll the last week with blogging! I now have a laptop which makes blogging so much easier as its harder to go to my desktop! I’m loving being able to put more posts out! I am in desperate need to sort out some lighting though! Ok So enough rambling onto the foundation!!

This is a collab again with Daniela from she has also posted a review so after you’ve read mine head over and check hers out!

is one of my favourite brands they are so unique with their style of products and packaging I really love this company, I mean who else would think to make a bronzer with cocoa in it that smells like chocolate…only Too Faced!

Now this foundation has huge Claims “Masterfully diffuses the line between makeup and skin. For coverage so undetectable, you can’t see the makeup and you can’t see imperfections—all that’s left is naturally radiant skin that looks like you were Born This Way.”

The Packaging Is beautiful, I love it, It has a frosted bottle with gold detail and HELLL YESSS it has a pump, foundations that come with a pump are so much more handy, easier to control how much yo dispense and much more hygienic. It also comes in 12 shades which is great.

According to Too Faced this foundation is infused with

  • COCONUT WATER – To gently replenish they skins moisture levels for radiant looking skin
  • ALPINE ROSE – To Brighten the skins appearance and Promote collagen
  • HYURALONIC ACID – Helps Balance skin for a smoother youthful Appearance
Basically Its a miracle foundation that you cant feel or see, that has amazing skin care benefits and makes you look like you have skin so good you were just born with it……
FIRST IMPRESSIONS – Now when I first applied this foundation it was love at first sight. It was so amazingly light and easy to blend. A little went a really long way. I used 2 pumps onto the back of my hand and spread out using a foundation brush (the , I actually love this brush it spreads foundation out amazingly and doesn’t absorb any product meaning you use less foundation)
Once I had covered my face in the foundation I blended it out using my damp beauty blender. Amazing. I matched my skin colour perfectly, My skin looked luminous and so flawless. It felt like I was wearing noting yet the coverage was nearly full. I loved it so much I convinced Daniela from to buy it. I loved it the first, second and third time I wore it. I wasn’t until the 4th time I wore it that I noticed a few things.
FINAL IMPRESSIONS I had started to convince my self that I must be getting old. I am 28. Through out the week while wearing this foundation I noticed my pores were getting larger, My skin wasn’t looking as good as it usually does under my foundation, I even started to see fine lines and dry patches I never knew existed. And they don’t exist, except for when I wear this foundation. I stopped using it for three days and alternated between the IT COSMETICS CC cream, L’Oréal Infallible Matte and Designer Brands COsmetics 24 Hour wear foundation. Not once did I see a dry patch or fine lines PHEW I’m back to being 28. I have realised this foundation seems to cake up between my brows, near my nose, on the pores on my cheeks and above my lip. It really draws attention to these imperfections.
Ok I know eeeeew haha, But for review purposes I needed to attatch these pictures. I hope you can see, but it’s very clear between my brows in the first picture how much this foundation creased and caked up, it was really not nice to look at all. In the picture to the right you can see how much it went cakey undr my eyes and new to my nose.
It seems as if it’s just not suitable for the inner portion of my face. Now I tried this with L’Oréal Lumi Foundation in the centre of my face and Born This way on the outsides of my face and that gave me a perfect flawless finish. I’m not sure why I didn’t realise these things those first frew days, I think I may have been distracted with how amazingly it applied and looked when first applied. It seemed to dry and set not very nicely at all.
I’m still trying different techniques and different primers etc but everytime it’s the same thing. ive tried different setting powders and no setting powder at all and its the same result everytime. If this is working for you I would love to know what you are doing to make it work.

Excuse the foundation all over my lips in the last pic!

*I have combination skin with an oily T-zone and I thought no dry patches, I had just had Dermafrac at a few weeks before so my skin is smooth and no blemishes at the moment. About 15 minutes before applying I have cleanses, toned and moiturised.

  1. Primer – Today I used TOO FACED – Primed and Poreless Pure Primer – It really great at bluring pores
  2. Using the Manicare brush I talked about earlier I placed the foundation evenly all over my face
  3. I’ve gone over with a beauty blender to just spread it out evenly and give that flawless finish. As you can see it Is a great colour match and in the last pic I have no concealer so you can see the coverage is pretty great.
  4. I’ve just set it lightly with a translucent powder that doesn’t cake up on any other foundation and done my eyes and lips and added highlight, blush and contour.
As you can see from a distance this foundation looks great as the colour match is perfect, But up close it’s not very nice on me.
Well this foundation is $39 USD from the TOO FACED website or Sephora. If you want to get in Australia Itwill be $58 from Mecca. THis is dam expensive, so expensive. Estee Lauder Double wear is a much better foundation and it is $50. Double wear feels heavy though where this foundation doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything at all. I feel like you need a silicone based primer or a hydrating primer underneath this foundation.
– feels light on the skin
– Looks luminous and radiant
– Stays in place well through out the day
– Has a pump
– Pretty Packaging
– very expensive
– clings to dry patches
– Dries a lot different to how it first applies
Now I’ve read reviews and blogs and watched youtube videos and most people adore this foundation and don’t have a single complaint. I wonder if these reviews are based of first impressions or if they have used it for quite awhile. I wont be recommending this foundation at the moment. I will continue to use it and will keep you all updated but for now I’m not convinced its worth the hype! I think I loved it at first as it went on beautifully and flawless then I went on to have the busiest days (shopping, painting the house etc) so when it went all cakey I think I thought it was just that I was busy. I’ve tried this on days where I haven’t done a lot and its the same outcome. This foundation has made me realise that I will no longer be doing first impressions, Your thoughts on a product change a lot from the first to the 5th time you use it so it’s not fair for me to talk about something I haven’t fully tried and tested.
Have you tried this? is it on your list?
Again this is a Collab, Me and Daniela from thought it would be helpful to post a review at the same time, we have different skin types so we thought it would be great to read both of our point of view. I’m interested to read her thoughts also, I know she wasn’t to happy with it either and we have kind of different skin issues etc.
Check out her review
